Friday it will be impossible to drive through downtown Zanesville and not smell the sweet aroma of Rib fest.
The 6th annual Rib fest, sponsored by the Minority Business Resource Network of Southeastern Ohio, will be barbecuing and grilling at Secrest auditorium starting Friday.
“It is a rib fest and we are going to have a rib contest Saturday. We are going to see who has the best ribs there,” says committee chair, Ernie Bynum.
Aside from ribs there will be fried foods, ice cream, a beer garden and blues music. But of course the ribs are the stars of the festival.
“Mostly it is about ribs and you have got to try them all and you know the lines are so long and I thought I could try all seven, one from each, but I have not been able to do that yet,” laughs Bynum.
Bynum says it is an event for all ages this Labor Day Weekend. The Solid Gold Rib Fest is Friday and Saturday from 4pm-12am.
