Newark Police Sergeant Scott Snow says a man who led police on a high speed chase through the city’s streets will be facing a charge of failure to comply with order of police.
29-year-old William Horton was involved in some kind of domestic dispute last Sunday. His family called Newark Police, who were on the look-out for Horton. When police located him, he fled. During the seven minute chase, police say speeds got up to 80 miles-per-hour. Horton eventually lost control and hit a semi before being taken into custody.
Police say Horton had a bee-bee gun with him and had to be tasered to be subdued.
He is being held at the Licking County Justice Center.
Snow says the grand jury may also decide to add additional charges.
