Motorcyclist Dead After Morning Crash

A motorcyclist is dead after an early morning crash.

It happened just before 1 a.m. this morning.

The Zanesville Police Department says the motorcyclist was traveling south on Linden Avenue and was attempting to pass a car near the intersection of Linden and Forest Avenues. It says the car was turning left and was hit by the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was ejected, and when crews arrived, he was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. He was later transported to Grant Medical Center, in Columbus, where he died of his injuries.

The driver of the car also was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital but was released without any injuries.
