Man dies after bee sting attack

Local News

A bee sting attack claimed the life of a local businessman, a man who didn’t have a history of bee allergies.

35-year old Chuckie Murrey was stung five times on the face and head on Saturday. He had been on life support since then, but he suffered too many complications. Thursday he died leaving behind a wife, two daughters and many friends, “Chuckie was just a great overall guy. I mean, he was very active in 4-H, very active, he took handicapped children on hunting trips, he was an avid hunter. Just an overall great guy,” said Curt Luburgh, close friend.

Chuckie and his father co-owned Murrey Top Soil in Zanesville. He was the main source of income for his family. Curt plans to team up with Muskingum County 4-H to raise money for Chuckie’s daughters, ” The girls, we’ll use it toward college funds. It’s a long life ahead of them without their dad. So, it’ll really help them get a step ahead,” said Luburgh.

Four goats will be auctioned off. For more information on how you can help out, contact Curt at 740-819-7271.
