Some of the stars today at the Muskingum County fair were not people. They were animals. A 260 lbs Yorkshire pig named, Marley, belongs to 11-year-old Logan Hittle. It took a lof of work getting this big guy ready for judging.
“You have to feed it and work with it everyday. You have to give it plenty of water and you just have to take care of it,” says Hittle.
All of Logan’s hard work paid off and Marley won his class. Logan is now crossing his fingers and hoping that Marley will win the division. Pigs are judged on length, width and muscle. Raising a prize-winning pig is a big time commitment.
“I usually spend 3 to 4 hours a day walking it and feeding it everyday.” tells Hittle.
Marley and other pigs will be auctioned off at 3:00 pm on Friday in the swine show arena.
