If you’ve been caught speeding multiple times by Heath’s red light cameras, Mayor Richard Waugh has some news that should bring you a sigh of relief.
He says the city is waiving all but the first speeding violation that people received during the month of July.
Waugh says all you have to do is make a phone call to the Heath Police Department and ask for Sergeant Black or Officer Jones.
Waugh says he hopes waiving the speeding violations will help people learn from their mistakes and change their speeding patterns.
In the first week the red light cameras were used, the machines issued more than seven thousand violations for people going more than 10 miles-per-hour over the speed limit.
Waugh says the city will not be waiving violators who went through red lights. He says that is a more serious violation that can lead to dangerous accidents.
