Some golfers spent the day enjoying the nice weather while helping out a local charity.
The annual Carr Center Golf Outing brought 88 golfers to the Longaberger Golf Course in Nashport. Executive Director of the Carr Center, Anna Oertel, says everyone’s always excited for the outing.
“We do have a lot of the same teams that golf every year and they’re out here to support the Carr Center but they’re also out here to have a wonderful day of golf and networking, things like that. So definitely, they’re definitely looking forward to it,” she says.
The golf outing usually raises between $4,000 and $5,000 to help fund the Carr Center’s youth programs.
“They benefit our youth programs which are things like Safety Town, special riders, our toddler enrichment program, our summer enrichment program, our speech therapy things like that,” says Oertel.
In addition to playing 18 holes golfers also had a chance to win a million dollars by shooting a hole in one and they could compete to win prizes for longest putt and closest to the pin.
