Golf Outing Benefits the Community

Two local service organizations came together today in a golf outing to benefit the community. The Chamber of Commerce and Jaycee golf outing brought local business men together to network and work on their swing.

“This outing is a joint project of the Chamber and the Jaycee, so it is two local service organizations that come together every year and put on this outing and the proceeds support the programs of the chamber, the programs of the Zanesville Jaycee and both organizations do some really great projects all year long,” says Tom Poorman, the president of the Chamber of Commerce.

The small fundraiser earned $5,000 for community projects.

“Stars and Stripes on the river, the chamber works on small business development all year, so those are just a couple of examples of the civic projects and the economic development projects this event supports,”tells Poorman.

There were 30 teams in attendance, which is up from last year.
