An early morning fire in New Straitsville destroys the home of a volunteer firefighter.
The New Straitsville Volunteer Fire Department, along with two other crews, responded to a fire at 306 Van Heyde Street around 3:00 a.m. Friday.
Assistant Fire Chief, Jeff Wilson, says neighbors called 9-1-1 when they smelled smoke.
Crews arrived to find the house engulfed in flames.
