The Cambridge Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a one-car fatal accident that happened around 9:30 Sunday night.
According to troopers, 41-year-old Mark Bates of Twinsburg was driving a Cheverolet Camaro northbound on State Route 285 in Old Washington north of Buckeye Trail High School. He traveled off the right side of the road, hit a sign post, continued through a field and struck a tree.
Bates was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
