Best of Show

The first annual Y-Bridge Festival took place this weekend and it was a wood worker who took best of show.

Out of the many painters, sculptors and jewelry makers it was local wood worker Mark Mitchell who took the top prize, while he was extremely excited it’s really the wood that does the work.

“I get a big chunk of wood and it looks neat,” explained Mitchell. “I make something out of it and whatever it turns out it turns out.”

Mitchell says some of his work takes days to complete and getting to show it off at this year’s festival is an honor.

“I think it’s a really good show. I think every one’s impressed with the amount of people that was here,” said Mitchell. “All the neat art. It’s a really great thing.”

Over 60 artists representing all art forms took part in this weekends show.
