The Zanesville Police Department is on the lookout for a man wanted in connection with an early morning robbery at a State Street convenience store.

Around 5:30 this morning, Detective Randy Ritchason says police were called to the Four Buddies Marathon station for a report of an armed robbery.

“The investigation has disclosed that the clerk who was working at the time was robbed at knife point,” says Ritchason. “We did recover the weapon, but again the video in itself pretty much shows what happened.”

Detectives have identified the possible suspect as 27 year old Anthony Ray Nichols II.

He’s also wanted for robberies in Washington County.

Detective Ritchason says the suspect was wearing a gray shirt with a “G” on it. jean shorts and has a tattoo of a letter on the underside of his arm.

The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot toward the Canteen Bar.

Nichols is considered armed and dangerous.

The ZPD is hoping the quality of the surveillance photos will help them quickly apprehend the suspect.

“It’s a good picture of him and surely somebody in the neighborhood or in Zanesville should know who this individual is,” says Ritchason.

If you have any information on the suspect you’re asked to contact the Zanesville Police Department at 455-0700.
