Local women have a chance to hit the links and help others attend college in a few weeks.
The Zane State College Foundation’s “Afternoon Tee Women’s Golf Outing” on June 29th will help raise money for women’s scholarships to Zane State.
“The event really is all about women helping women. About 67 percent of the students at Zane State College are female, many of them very academic achieving but also high financial need,” says Pamela Jira, executive director institutional advancement Zane State.
The event is for avid women golfer’s who want to play 18 holes or those who want to play in a scramble.
The highlight of the event will be a skills clinic taught by Zanesville High School alumna and LPGA pro Michele Redman.
“Everybody is looking to improve their game whenever they can, golfers are funny that way, but it’s also to learn how to learn somebody that accomplished something great, how they did it. What was going on in her mind that might be a little bit different than somebody else’s mind that led her to that success,” says Mike Durant, Zanesville Country Club Golf Pro.
