The New Concord Fire Department is bringing the community together to help raise money for its services.
The New Concord Firemans Festival has been a two day event that wrapped up tonight.
“It’s a great family time. Last night, we had our fireworks, and we had amazing turnout for that, ” says Firefighter/EMT Matt Hamsher.
Those who came out were also treated to a parade this afternoon, but Hamsher says the family-style chicken dinner and raffle are the event’s biggest moneymakers.
Overall, Hamsher says the fire department should bring in a little over 10 thousand dollars.
“It helps to put us through training and for upcoming EMT’s and firefighters, ” says Hamsher.
Hamsher says the community-based event has been going on since the 1970’s.
