Local Company Joins Relay for Life

One local business is doing what they can to help a cause that hits home.

Grocery store Kroger will participate for the first time in the 25th Annual Relay for Life this weekend. Store Manager Anne Nolan says it’s a cause close to their hearts.

“It’s important to us we have a lot of survivors that work for Kroger and a lot of survivors in the community,” said Nolan. “We want to make sure we’re out there supporting them and their families.”

So far Kroger raised $1,500. They plan to sell water and some food at the event to raise even more money.

“All the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society,” said Nolan. “This is Muskingum County’s 25th anniversary of the Relay for Life walk.”

Relay for Life will take place this weekend at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds.

The event will start at 3 p.m. Saturday and ends Sunday at 9 a.m.
