“Afternoon Tee” Raises Money for Scholarships

It seems as though many golf outings are emerging for their first time this year. One of those happens to be the Zane State College Foundation Afternoon Tee, which took place at the Zanesville Country Club.

Professional golfer Michele Redman was one of the coordinators of the event.

“We wanted to do some things for the community and do some things to help people,” says Redman.

So, all the proceeds are going toward the Zane State Women’s Scholarship Fund. Redman says it will help individuals in financial need who really wants to further their education.

About 36 women hit the golf course this morning and were treated to lunch before hitting the green again in the afternoon.

Redman says she hopes to continue the event in the future.

“We’d like to get some more participants. Other than that, everything seems to be really good. I think we’d just like to get a few more participants and be able to donate some more money, ” says Redman.

Redman also was able to watch her mother receive an award during lunch for the support her mother has given Redman throughout her golfing career.
