We are looking for a local content editor/manage for our website... whiznews.com. Whiznews.com is already one of the region's most visited websites and we want to continue to grow.

Job Description:

Duties would include but are not limited to, posting of local news and information, generating relevant online content for the website, and being the point person between departments to coordinate online promotions. Working with Sales, Broadcast Programming and the IT Department as the person who would be responsible for getting the web projects completed, reviewing for accurately posted content. This team player will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and timeliness of Web site information on a day-to-day basis. Work with our IT/Web specialists to create and modify templates and style sheets. Assist in maintaining a large and ever-changing online database of text and video content. Help acquire freelance writers, bloggers, and subject experts to develop new content. Track and understand performance content based on traffic and revenue. Able to manage projects to a successful conclusion and will research a broad range of subjects to create content in niche verticals and then draft a content plan for review. Evaluate, develop and implement with the goal of motivating users to utilize our sites as a major source of information. Work with external vendors and clients to develop and integrate content and enhance our Internet properties

Ideal Candidate will possess:

A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or a related field preferred. The ideal candidate needs to be efficient, accurate, possess organizational skills, dependable, and pay attention to detail is a must. Candidate will also have a proven ability to communicate effectively with people at various levels, the ability to balance several projects while working in a deadline-driven environment. Solid MS Office application skills will be required; this individual should also be well motivated, proactive and passionate. This position will be required to demonstrate a solid understanding of a confidentiality and good practice in data protection.
